Manny was tradded to LAD

Baseballs most “mean” hitter left the AL today being traded from Red Sox to the Dodgers. There was reports before this new development, that he was a possibly be traded to the Mets. However, I doubt this will Manny’s last time in the AL. He becomes a free agent in the winter and could be picked up any number of teams.

At least my Yankees doesn’t have to face him for the rest of the year, unless it’s in the World Series. I wonder what this will do the Red Sox’s lineup since Manny was a powerful bat in the lineup.

Only time will tell.

As most of you know, I am heavily involved with the Battlestar Wiki Project (which is part of FrakMedia! Productions) and we done a lot of work on the English wiki were we detailed almost every aspect of every detail of all the shows, events, characters, etc. in the wiki. The only new information I am seeing recently is from current episodes.

In any case, we link to episode pages a lot to satisfy a number of “mandated” conventions: cite, cross-referencing, etc. Usually inside a template we have to code it the long way out if there was multiple times that we had to refer to different episodes.

| sometemplatevar = [[33]]<br/>[[The Hand of God (RDM)|The Hand of God]]

Always a very unpleasant thing to do. So we were working on a new sub-wiki called “Battlestar Props” which is going to be a central repository on the props used in the show. One of people I work with suggested that we able to input into a template the production numbers of the episode(s) (eg. 101, 110) to render the links for us. I thought that was a great idea. So… the Episode parser was born!

Domino’s Pizza Tracker

Posted by Shane

When I order pizza, I usually get it from Dominos. What is one of the things I really like about Dominos is the pizza tracker where you can see the progress of your order. Now I know that this is “technology” that anyone can use, it would be cool to see this in restaurants to see how your order is going.

Since the FCC approved the merger a few days ago between the two satellite radio companies, they have announced today that the new company has been formed.

I think this is great because both services I wanted to be a part of, but since they were two different companies, getting the stations on one device was impossible. Now with this merger, they can funnel all channels into a single device!

This will make the “channel” lineup huge and allow at least for me to get both MLB and NFL stations on a single device. It it might be worth to buy a device and hold a subscription as having access to these channels with no commercials is the way to go. I think the only thing bad about the receivers is that it can not get traditional FM/AM or HD-Radio channels as I still do like to listen to terrestrial radio systems. :)

I was just surfing the news just to see if there was anything interesting to read and this article just popped right out. With Ted Stevens (R-AK) indicted the question remains if he will resign from the Senate as the now trail will go on or if he will be re-elected in November.

I suggest you keep tabs on the CNN website for more updated information through out the week.

avast! virus protection

I am often called upon my friends one computer help (or family members in distress), when computer problems arise. The 911 of the computer world. The question I get asked the most during normal problem solving procedures is “What anti-virus program are you current using?” and that I answer pretty easily.

Currently that is avast! professional version 4.8 (detail featured list) software. After being a fan of Trend Mico systems for a long time, I found out that it was a huge memory hog once your machine had lots of files and wasn’t always able to detect the malicious code when surfing on the web.
