I play a game called Dangerous Waters, which is a naval simulation game. You can command a Perry-class frigate, Seawolf-class submarine, or a Russian Akula class submarine. The main object of the game (if you are playing another person) is to hunt them down before they do the same to you.
There is one problem with the game. One of them details with the number of people that play the game. There are not many — even with the game being released on Steam. Another problem with the game is that it hasn’t been updated or even touched by theĀ makers of the game for years and for now it doesn’t even look like there might be any new versions out there.
I bring this up because there is a huge potential to make a new version of this game in a Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) game and nothing is being down about it. Wouldn’t this be cool to be in a “sub” or a “ship” and sail around the globe with friends looking for enemy patrols. I been thinking about creating such a game, but I have yet to find a engine that could support under-water rendering. I have tons of ideas on how to do such a game and it be really neat to find people who share my ideas with and write the game together.
