Blade Runner.. 2?

Posted by Shane

First of all: HECK NO!

If they create this movie and it is really bad, the first movie which was so good will be ruined forever. The rumored screenwriter wrote ‘Eagle Eye’ which hasn’t been getting very good reviews despite it’s high box office numbers. You can read the full details over at /film. Props to DrWho42 who pointed it out on the BSG Forums.

I am an avid baseball fan, but this is the first time in 17 years that no New York team has made it to the post-season. The Yankees were eliminated long before their season ending win over the Boston Red Sox’s, but the Mets succumbed to the wrath of Red October Baseball with another September collapse, losing a must win over the Florida Marlins to ensure a tie over the Milwaukee Brewers, who have now claimed the NL Wild Card crown. A tie would have forced a one game showdown at Shea Stadium for the NL Wild Card Crown. Only one spot in the Post Season has yet to be filled and that is between the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox.

I’m going to break down my predictions right now and wrap up of the Yankee season.

Update: The White Sox’s won the game vs. Tigers which forces the Sox and Twins in a one game playoff!

Update 2: The White Sox’s did win the game vs. Twins! So far I am correct! 😀

The wind is twirling around these two shows: Heros and Eureka.

Hero’s, which I have yet to even see an episode, has not been getting the reviews it needs to stay alive. The comic I read even points out the misery they had watching the season opener. It’s safe to say that this might be the final season or a 4th season the final season.

Eureka has had a dismal third season as well up to the latest episode. The season started out so well with the first two episodes, but when the writers killed Ed Quinn (Nathan Stark) character off the show to bring in Frances Fisher character (Eva Thorne) as the up-tight corporate running person, the show lost it’s comedy value and the creativity has gone down hill. They brought in sexy Ever Carradine (Lexi Carter) as Sheriff Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) to try to keep the sexy in the show, but she is doesn’t follow the spirit or mythology of the show when it comes to the atmosphere they been trying to create. They keep side-stepping the artifact in Section Five, which we should learn more about. (Take a hint from the writers from Battlestar Galactica people! Have two arcs!) And the pure blatant advertisement of Degree Sport Stick is really turning me off. There should be NOTHING real world in this show.

I watched the pilot episode of Fringe (also the comic I read posted something funny about it) is a real copycat of X-Files… the truth is out there… with a weird guy. God bless X-Files season 1 through 8. Season 9 sucked by the way. I haven’t even notice that there were more than 1 episode out. I found out by visiting it’s Hulu page where you can watch the show if you want. It’s good, but I think it’s to much of a X-Files copycat.

The TV series Bones has so far maintained it’s fun this season while it’s very interesting watching a new intern every new week, this past week episode we say the return of Zack, who if you have been watching the show from the start, know that he is a serial murder even though he was a crime fighter before hand, and that’s something the shows characters think that is not wrong with him. Again, you can watch this show on Hulu. This is show that is a must see. I can see this show going on for at least 6 seasons, that is if they can keep the cast together. Probably why they are bring back Zack into the picture once more with this surprised guest appearance to see how the episode did in ratings.

So with that in mind at least one show comes off my viewing list next season. Bones stays on. Fringe is really on the fringe as I will try another episode to see if it got any better. And I might try out at least season one of Hero’s just to see why it was all the rage back in Season One… just like LOST (which I never seen also…). The question I always ask: Can we go back to the good ol’ days of shows making complete sense.

14 Hours Till…

Posted by Shane

(2pm-5pm) I will officially have Internet access. This will be nice since I will be able to catch up on the things that I missed in the past few weeks and I will then be able to post of pictures of my new apartment. For those people *cough* Battlestar Forum *cough* that saw my old place pictures, these will blow you out of the water.

Update: Internet arrived at 3pm. I was online at 3:10pm. Simple.

Tonight, after bring back the groceries, the batch of eggs that I got to make Eggs Benedict at a later date was accelerated because most of the eggs broke on the way back to the apartment. So tonight I sped up my cooking Eggs Benedict — for dinner. So lets get started on what happened. (No pictures this time, but next time after I am doing this I will take some snapshots of the final product.)

Back in NY

Posted by Shane

After a long drive today with a U-Haul in tow, I have arrived back in NY. Tomorrow I move into my new apartment and get settled in here. I only have Internet when visiting my mom’s house so until my apartment is hooked up I’ll be offline. The next few days will be busy, but I will be up-and-around soon!

Great Day in NYC

Posted by Shane

I spent the better part of the day today in NYC with my sister. As I said in my previous post, I went to the Yankee game today.

The day game of the double header because of the rain postponement yesterday canceled that game. My sister has some great nosebleed seats and you can see the field great. The game was a problem. The Yankees lost 7 to 1 getting the only run in the bottom of the 9th inning. And this was against the Tampa Bay Rays! (Though.. we are in 4th place and they are in 1st. Go figure.) They Yankees did win the night cap, but I was already back home by the time the game ended.

After the game we went out to dinner to a Mexican restaurant on 81st and 2nd ave called Blockheads. I give this place 4 thumbs up. I had the chicken casadias, large portion, and gobbled it quickly.

I have pictures, that is, I have to wait for them from my sister. That’s about it! I’ll be heading back down to VA Monday night to get the rest of my stuff. I have more good news that I will post up Monday.
