Corner Apartment (Exterior)

Corner Apartment (Exterior)

So some of you have seen my Virgina Apartment… I might put those up for comparison, but it’s really hard to do that since the Virgina Apartment was a studio vs. a one-bedroom apartment. I took photos before I moved one thing of furniture in and then shots after I had everything placed in the apartment just how I wanted it. I will be showing the after photos.

This photo you see on the top here is the exterior of my apartment, which is on the corner of the building. It only has two other neighbors. My bedroom touches my neighbors living room (to the right) and the other neighbor (behind) my kitchen/living room touches there living room. There is a lamp next to the door, but I rarely have that on unless I go outside during the night time so I can find my way back in to the apartment. Lighting is not good. There is one street lamp, but I am very far away.

When you first walk in to the apartment (photo right is the real right and photo left is the real left) and go to the right, you get to a small jacket closest. Great for storing the items you will be using during the Winter time. The air unit is just for cooling and not heating, unlike the VA Apartment. It turns on or shuts off based on the temperature you set (or in this case what I set) so it’s not constantly on and has the ability to keep cost savings down. The heater is down on the group and runs most of the length inside the living room and the length of the bedroom (behind the bed). The lamp is a continuation from VA: 5 bulbs, 3 on or 2 on or all 5 on at a time.

As you can tell from the photo, right next to the door is my desk chair so naturally you gotta wonder what’s next to it: Desk. Behind my desk area I have a small coffee table with lamp plus the two chairs. One that I got while I was in Boston, the other from home.

Though this seems like a really crazy place to put my desk, this was the only option so cables didn’t have to cross the room for TV/Internet. The only bad problem is that I can not have the blinds open during the day if I am using the computer since the glare from the sun would render looking at the monitor impossible. There is a large closet to the right of the table which allows me to place storage. I do have an outside storage unit, but I wouldn’t put anything that can get ruined by the elements outside.

The next space it the kitchen, which is a decent size compared to the one in VA. More open. This place came with a microwave that was above the oven which is nice since it has a fan to take away the smoke from cooking. Always a problem I experienced in VA because the fan wasn’t always the best and the smoke detector kept going off. These appliances are actually new compared to the ones in VA.. and they work all the time.

Since this is a one bedroom apartment, the bed is away from the main living room area. Gives me more space to place stuff properly. The bathroom connects with the bedroom. This bed was my sister’s old bed, just refurbished with my sheets. It is for sure more conformable than the bed I had before. Also in the bedroom is another TV (an old tube version) and two dressers: 6 foot and 3 foot. These accommodate my cloths in a more orderly fashion along with the closet space provided.

That is my entire apartment. I hope you enjoyed the tour!
