X-Men Origins and Terminator 4: Salvation

Posted by Shane

It’s been a while since I seen X-Men: Orgins and T4: Salvation is it. While both movies were interesting, they both had a nice story line as well, but T4 in this case wins when it comes to continuity.

In X-Men they make it so Wolverine and Sabertooth are brothers. I do not remember that anywhere in the comics or in the previous three movies. I did like however how they put together the background process of them putting the adamantium metal into his body along from where it came from. Otherwise the movie action was fine.

X-Men Rating: 5.5 out of 10.

If you remember Bale’s rant, you would actually agree with him. While the movie was O.K. the dialog and the plot derived from the previous 3 movies played a huge part. Most of the common theme in this movie was christianity. It was very different and I think too moderized. We all loved the looks of the first 3.

T4 Rating: 6 out of 10.

Transformers 2: Wonderful!

What ever the critics say about this movie is pure crap. After watching the first Transformers to get me “caught” up in the story this movie starts off with a bang with it’s first action scene with the Autobots and the Decepticons going at it in China.

While the action was great I would though point out that they tried to fit so much story into the entire 2 hours and 45 minutes they seem to rushed the “real lines” of the movie just so they can move onto another action scene. This wasn’t totally flawed since no audience member would want a very detail explanation.

For those who liked the original Transformers movie, you will not be disapointed. I did see it in an IMAX theather, but I am sure it’s just as good on a regular screen. If you can see it in IMAX. See it! Well worth the extra $4.

Rating: 11 out of 10!

The parts of the 2009 Intel Big Deal - June

The parts of the 2009 Intel Big Deal - June

My desktop.. even though I built this on on March of 2007 is already out-dated. The P4 and DDR2 RAM was at the end of it’s cycle when I built it. So I got the worst possible setup, but didn’t realize it right away. About 9 months to a year later there was already duel core and quad core being introduced into the market as the standard.

Today most new machines are all duel core or quad core. The new chip that is going to be the new standard pretty soon. 8 cores. DDR3. No machine will be completed without DDR3 RAM. I will be awaiting till July once the DDR3 RAM becomes the new standard and the prices will drop and drop….

What price am I getting these for? A little over $300. This price comes directly from Intel. One of the offers they were throwing in is that you get the full Windows Vista 64-bit OS with a free voucher for Windows 7 64-bit.

As the RAM comes in… I’ll be looking into getting duel video cards for SLI support. Maybe the NVIDIA GeForce 200 series cards. I also be looking into fully water cooling my system with pumps and everything.

WordPress 2.8.0 “Baker” Means Media Management Takes Center Stage

With the release of WordPress 2.8 “Baker” starts the day of the new development of WordPress 2.9. A major component that is being upgraded for the development of WordPress 2.9 will be the media management system (i.e. Attachments). Others will be posted over time. This is just a small sampling of most of them.

  • Setting Page Revamp (ticket)
  • Media System Revamp
  • Dependency Checking (plugins, themes, etc.) (ticket)
  • Merging of WordPress and MU Systems

As for me… I will be heavily involved with development for 2.9 as I laid down “some” ground work for the new media system. Expect a revised Wireframes document on the subject in a few weeks as I team up with the core developers to outline the plans with them so the Wireframes will be perfect.

Suggesting for the new media system? Leave comments here! :)
