I do a lot of programming. My queue for that matter that I run for “tasks” to do has been backed up because of this vBulletin (vB) design system.

It’s not because of the code or operation, but the way that it is designed. In WordPress we strive to have a great UI and UX team to be able to see the pitfalls of usability before we release WordPress to the masses. vBulletin is not free, so you/I expect a few things including this kind of testing.

My Poor Jets

Posted by Shane

I know this is already a few days old, but I am really sad to see my NY Jets loose the AFC Championship Game. I am very proud they did very well this year which makes me believe they can do even better next year!  Playing against the Colts is really hard, and the Jets did not make it easy for them in the 1st half of the game.

The first meetup was very successful of the new year. Sun Microsystems came though for us and helped us out with some great space. Large room and three smaller room for other things. The main presentation hall held 113 people. We had close to the 78 people that RSVP to the event. Not sure of the real count, but we found out later the directions we had posted up brought people to the wrong location. (Fixed now..)

Right now there is no plans to have jQuery updated to 1.4.0 in WordPress 3.0. It is not impossible, but very unlikely due to fact that it does not cover the WordPress 3.0 Scope of Work.

Use jQuery at your own risk and if you do use it, unload jQuery 1.3 first before registering jQuery 1.4.

wp_deregister_script( 'jquery' );
wp_register_script( 'jquery', '<Location of jQuery 1.4>', false, '' );

I will bring this up at the next dev meeting, but as of right now there is no jQuery 1.4 in WordPress 3.0.x.

I am all Avatar’ed out.

Posted by Shane

Today was the final time that I will see Avatar in the theater. I have seen it a total of 4 times — one time being by myself and the other in a non-IMAX theater. The next time I will see this movie is when it gets the awards for Best Picture, Best Special Effects, and Best Director at this years Awards Ceremony and then on Bluray.

Updated ‘History’ Page

Posted by Shane

With the recent find of lots of different files in my old HDD that I was able to access today, it also contained all my old ‘rabbit hole’ designs dating back to 2003 through 2006. If you have read my history page, the site was offline from January 2006 through June 2008 until I brought it back online when I was down in Virgina.

Check it out! Boy have things changes… :-)
