I never really said what my real full-time job is except if you visited my Project page you would find out really quickly where I am most of the time I am not online: Geek Squad. I do not post a lot of things related to work because I do not like to talk about it, however I did get a sort of promotion within Best Buy/Geek Squad this past week. _{(I do not talk about it because of Client Data Privacy Issues.)}

A little history. I applied for a paid internship spot on the Retail Web Development team during the summer of last year. I never got a call back. This time around when it was offered about 3 weeks ago, I did apply again and this time I did get a call back to say that I was accepted to the team. It’s been about a week or so since I known that I was going out to Minnesota to work at Best Buy Corporate Campus.

This is going to be a significant resume builder for me.

What does this mean?

The project team lasts for about 3 to 4 months after the first month that I am there. 5 people were selected through out the company and they don’t keep everyone. They only keep the employees who’s skills sets match the project that is going to be worked on. Hopefully my skill set of PHP, jQuery, XML, CSS, etc. will keep me around for the entire time. I did send this theme and a plugin I wrote for WordPress as my code submission.

I could be gone as long as 4 to 5 months at the most.

What about WordPress?

Yes. I will still be able to do WordPress related stuff while I am in Minnesota. Time will be as usual limited, but I am certain that I will be able to work WordPress stuff while I am out there. I do have internet and a laptop.
