I started my return trip back to NY Thursday morning in St. Paul, MN. For my return trip back home I decided to go “non-traditional” in my travel plans opting for the more scenic route. I started this leg back in NY in the start of the month flying back to MN for my last 3.5 weeks in MN. But for the ride back I wanted to go the good ol’ scenic route taking in the sights. Here I come Amtrak! And as you might have guess… I am back home in NY for a while.

So here I am in my Twins hat with my manager who I lost the bet with. It would have been better to be wearing a Yankee hat today.

Today was the 2nd year in a row that I went to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure where my mom, a survivor of breast cancer for now over 16 years, ran again. This time around we were organized and got to the city and the starting line with plenty of time to spare to see the real start of the race to takes lots of pictures in front of the massive starting line that was right near the Museum of Natural History.

Over the course of the year, myself, mom and sister go through everything we own. Clothes, toys, etc. and as things do not fit and things are worn down or out of style, we put it in our ‘donation’ area in the basement so when it comes towards the end of the summer. We can give everything away so people who are in need of some items to keep them warm over the winter and for other seasons as well have a healthy choice of selections.

Today was out last trip to the church that we bring our stuff today and over the course of two days we brought over 120lbs of cloths, shoes, underwear, jackets, heavy winter, and toys to the church. So much that it filled my car twice each time we went.

It’s a great feeling that people will be able to enjoy the items that we all cherish at one point to know that someone else with cherish it all the same.

I am moving out of my apartment in NY for a couple of reasons. The first one is that I am not here as much now with my internship with Best Buy in Minnesota. So why pay for an apartment when I am never here? Anyway while I was going through things to move out (minus clothes which they are all now packed in the car) I realized I had collected a lot of odd computer equipment over the years and today I went through it all and sorted what I wanted to keep and what was to throw away. This doesn’t count the stuff that I know is already at mom’s that I am already keeping.

The criteria for keeping it has to follow certain guidelines:

  • Could it contain private information?
  • Does this serve a purpose with the current technology trend?
  • Is it working in a state that I would use it on a daily basis?

If any one of these questions were answered ‘yes’, then I kept it. If not… well… it saw the dump.
