It’s dead according to a co-worker. So that means I will be in a rush mode to get a new version ASAP and this time I am going to get it registered so I don’t have to worry about spending $$ to get a new one. I am a tard for not doing it last time.

This is what you see when you join the game.

WOW!

I just played the demo, and while the first time around I was stupid enough to leave alone my teammates, I learned the next time that this is a game that you can not go out on your own. The demo only includes two levels of one map and with the 20+ maps that are coming out with the game in less than a week, I can expect more fun!

Right now the game has several plaguing problems. Most noticibly with the server matching problems and people trying to play together as a group. Also if you are on a windows machine, you can not run a dedicated server and play the game at the same time.

Attached is the only thing that I can get for now. It is a poster of the “map” as you join it. If you think about the modding possibilities with this game, they are endless. There are plenty of screenshots and video of the game in action on the biggest fan website including the official trailer for the game. The offical review of this game will come out once the game is released. This is just a preview. expect a much fuller review then!

Think of this as an early present if you pre-purchase Left 4 Dead via Steam or XBOX 360 authorized websites. According to Steam/Valve you will have access to the demo all the way up to the release date, when it will cease to exist. This is very cool as they have always said that there was going to be a demo version after the release date. Guess not! Pre-purchase it now!

Today I purchased two game in which I have already talked about. The games are Left 4 Dead with an estimated release date of November 18th and World of Goo which has already been released. YAY!

A neat 2D game called World of Goo was released on Steam recently. While my gaming time has gone down, I was surfing the Steam news to see what was going on. I saw something called World of Goo. So I watched the trailier and everything. I checked out to see if there was a demo on their website, and there was so I download it. Now after playing the demo I am hooked!

As of November 1, 2008, Sierra, the game publisher for Tribes 2, will be officially shutting down the master servers for this great game. Though I used to play this all the time (Now it’s mostly Team Fortress 2) this is a sad day to see such a great game being thrown into vaporware.

There is an upside. A number of developers from within the Tribes community gave created an interesting mod using the Enemy Territory – Quake Wars engine. So far the results of there madness is pretty good. It looks like a combination of Tribes 2 and Tribes 1 mixed together. What was the original intention of Tribes Vengeance, but that’s a WHOLE other issue. Another issue that might come up is the source code to Tribes 2. There might be a slight possibility that the source code will be released when the game is officially dumped off the records making us developers to work on an alternative master server and maybe even fix Tribes 2 itself.

(2pm-5pm) I will officially have Internet access. This will be nice since I will be able to catch up on the things that I missed in the past few weeks and I will then be able to post of pictures of my new apartment. For those people *cough* Battlestar Forum *cough* that saw my old place pictures, these will blow you out of the water.

Update: Internet arrived at 3pm. I was online at 3:10pm. Simple.
