Domino’s Pizza Tracker

Posted by Shane

When I order pizza, I usually get it from Dominos. What is one of the things I really like about Dominos is the pizza tracker where you can see the progress of your order. Now I know that this is “technology” that anyone can use, it would be cool to see this in restaurants to see how your order is going.

Since the FCC approved the merger a few days ago between the two satellite radio companies, they have announced today that the new company has been formed.

I think this is great because both services I wanted to be a part of, but since they were two different companies, getting the stations on one device was impossible. Now with this merger, they can funnel all channels into a single device!

This will make the “channel” lineup huge and allow at least for me to get both MLB and NFL stations on a single device. It it might be worth to buy a device and hold a subscription as having access to these channels with no commercials is the way to go. I think the only thing bad about the receivers is that it can not get traditional FM/AM or HD-Radio channels as I still do like to listen to terrestrial radio systems. :)

I was just surfing the news just to see if there was anything interesting to read and this article just popped right out. With Ted Stevens (R-AK) indicted the question remains if he will resign from the Senate as the now trail will go on or if he will be re-elected in November.

I suggest you keep tabs on the CNN website for more updated information through out the week.

avast! virus protection

I am often called upon my friends one computer help (or family members in distress), when computer problems arise. The 911 of the computer world. The question I get asked the most during normal problem solving procedures is “What anti-virus program are you current using?” and that I answer pretty easily.

Currently that is avast! professional version 4.8 (detail featured list) software. After being a fan of Trend Mico systems for a long time, I found out that it was a huge memory hog once your machine had lots of files and wasn’t always able to detect the malicious code when surfing on the web.

NASA’s 50th Birthday

Posted by Shane

Our beloved space agency turned 50 years old today. I like to personally thank the men and women behind the space effort – including employees, military officials, engineers, and contractors. Without them we would have been able to reach for the stars. (I have no doubt that we did land on the moon.) At least for me, I think they are the most incredible minds out there.

Here is to NASA and 50 more years of dedicated service to the mission of Science and Space Exploration!

One of my favorite shows, that is currently in it’s last season and is in hiatus right now is Battlestar Galactica. One of the thing SciFi did before the start of this last season was to release this promotional picture. It features the primary cast members in the setting of ‘The Last Supper’. I have kept quiet till now. I think the image was just to throw us all off on who the last cylon is and once the season restarts in January 2009. For more on the image, check out the Battlestar Wiki.
